Mac Help

Hey dudes,
Any advice? When I try to burn photo cds after a few mins of burning, it ejects and says burn failed “cannot produce data” or “medium write error.” Anything I can try before I take it in to the hell that is the Mac store in Manhattan? I’ve tried different disc brands as well.
Thanks,
Ken

Ok, we are gonna need some specifics here.
1. When you say “burn photo cds”, how are you trying to do this exactly? Are you using iPhoto or Toast or going through the Finder? This might help us narrow down the problem.
2. Are these CDs only for storing photos? Try burning as a “data cd” if you are given the option.
3. When you are choosing your settings, try lowering the Write Speed to something other than “Maximum Possible”. Something like 16x or 4x will be slower but better suited for whatever disc you are using.
catch it in the hat….smack it with the hammer.
squirrel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks-i’ll give you a buzz tony!
Make sure you put the label side (the area you would write “My favorite MFR songs”*) facing you when inserting it into the machine
*Just kidding. No one would ever write the phrase “My favorite MFR songs”.
Ha ha
I’ve had the same issue but in fact the CD’s are burning the info. It’s a glitch that happens when time machine is on. If you put the CD back in it should populate and your info should be on the CD.
